Is Cane Sugar Non-GMO?
Cane sugar and beet sugar are two different crops, and the non-GMO answer is different for each. There is no commercially grown genetically modified sugarcane, so cane sugar is non-GMO by default. Sugar beet is a different story — GM varieties dominate US beet production, and most US “granulated sugar” sold without a crop declaration is beet or a blend.
That is why the label matters. A product marked simply “sugar” gives you no information about the crop. Non-GMO cane sugar means cane specifically, and Non-GMO Project verification documents the supply chain rather than relying on the crop’s default status.

We supply organic sugar wholesale by the pallet and the truckload — wholesale organic cane sugar in certified organic and Non-GMO Project Verified programs. Is cane sugar non-GMO?
What is the difference between organic and non-GMO cane sugar?
Non-GMO means the crop is not genetically modified, which cane satisfies by default and Non-GMO Project verification documents. Organic is a broader standard covering farming practices, permitted inputs, soil management and processing. Organic cane sugar is both; non-GMO cane sugar is not automatically organic.
Is organic cane sugar the same as evaporated cane juice?
Broadly yes evaporated cane juice was the older term for the same category of minimally refined cane sugar. FDA guidance moved the industry away from that name toward “cane sugar” on labels. If your specification still references evaporated cane juice, tell us and we will confirm the match.
